COMPOSITION

Each extended-release tablet contains:

Felodipine 2.5 mg Felodipine 5 mg Felodipine 10 mg

Inactive Ingredients

Penedil 2.5 mg Penedil 5mg Penedil 10 mg

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, aluminium silicate, lactose, hyaroxypropyl cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil, polyethylene glycol 6000, titanium dioxide, iron dioxide yellow, carnauba wax, propyl gallate.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, aluminium silicate, lactose, povidone, polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium stearyl fumarate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol 6000, titanium dioxide, carnauba wax, propyl gallate, red-brown ferric oxide, yellow ferric oxide.

WHEN SHOULD THE PREPARATION NOT BE USED?

Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients.

Do not take this medicine without consulting a doctor before starting treatment

If you suffer from worsening of angina or angina is getting unpredictable.

If you have suffered a heart attack within the last month or have any other severe heart problems.

If you suffer from liver problems.

You will be asked to stop taking this medicine if your doctor has diagnosed cardiogenic shock.

WARNINGS

DRUG INTERACTIONS

If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions. This is especially important for medicines belonging to the following groups: cimetidine (for treatment of ulcers), erythromycin (for bacterial infections), itraconazole or ketoconazole (for fungal infections), phenytoin, carbamazepine or phenobarbitone (for epilepsy) or tacrolimus (used after kidney or liver transplant). Make sure that your doctor knows if you are taking any of these medicines as they may affect the amount of Penedil you take.

SIDE EFFECTS

In addition to the desired effect of the medicine, adverse reactions may occur during the course of taking this medicine, for example: Rushing, headaches, palpitations, dizziness and tiredness. Also, some people experience: Slightly swollen ankles, skin inflammation, rash or itching, stomach pain, swollen gums. If you suffer from swollen gums they may get worse. This can be prevented by careful dental hygiene. In isolated cases some people experience the following: Pain in joints and muscle aches, impotence, a need to urinate (pass water) frequently, skin sensitive to light, acute swelling of the lips or tongue, rapid heartbeat, fainting, feeling or being sick, fever, 'pins and needles' feeling in your toes or fingers, abnormal liver blood test. See your doctor if any symptoms continue for more than a few days or become troublesome. Effects that require special attention. If you get chest pain and dizziness at the same time, or if the medicine affects you in any other way, you should see your doctor or pharmacist straight away.

In the event that you experience side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, or if there is a change in your general health, consult your doctor immediately.

DOSAGE

According to doctor's instructions only.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

This medicine is not usually intended for administration to children.

Penedil is an extended release preparation, and therefore take care to take the medicine at specific time intervals

as determined by the doctor.

ATTENTION!

Grapefruit juice can affect the way that some calcium antagonists like Penedil work - it is important that you do

not drink grapefruit juice while you are taking your tablets.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Do not chew, crush or divide the tablet!

Swallow the medicine whole with water.

I HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESS OF THETREATMENT?

Complete the full course of treatment as instructed by the doctor.

Even if there is an improvement in your health, do not discontinue use of this medicine, before consulting your doctor.

Avoid Poisoning!

This medicine, and all other medicines, must be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children and/or infants, in order to avoid poisoning.

If you have taken an overdose, or if a child has accidentally swallowed the medicine, proceed immediately to a hospital emergency room and bring the package of the medicine with you. Do not induce vomiting unless explicitly instructed to do so by a doctor!

This medicine has been prescribed for the treatment of your ailment; in another patient it may cause harm.

Do not give this medicine to your relatives, neighbors or acquaintances.

Do not take medicines in the dark! Check the label and the dose each time you take your medicine. Wear glasses if you need them.

STORAGE

Store this medicine in a cool and dry place. Even if kept in their original container and stored as recommended, medicines may be kept for a limited period only. Please note the expiry date of the medicine! In case of doubt, consult the pharmacist who dispensed the medicine to you. Do not store different medications in the same package.
